Solar Choice Commercial has brokered a 30kW solar system for the roof of Bridgestone Earthmover Tyres’ facilities in Mount Isa, Queensland. The system uses 115x 260W Trina Solar panels with 2x SMA inverters (1x 25kW and 1x 5kW) as well as an SMA monitoring system.

Bridgestone Earthmover Tyres first approached Solar Choice on the 30th December 2014 looking at a 100kW system for a site in Perth and a 30kw system for their Mount Isa premises. Bridgestone were no strangers to solar, having already had a 100kw system installed at their Hunter Valley site and a 40kw system installed at their Mackay site, each by a separate installer.

At the beginning of January 2015, when the project started to gather momentum, Solar Choice was heavily involved in assisting the client as a trusted advisor. The Solar Choice Commercial team assisted Bridgestone by answering questions about the type and brand of panels to be used, and by ensuring the client was receiving the right level of contact from each of the installers.

To ensure that they had seen the full breadth of options available to them, the client sought out quotes not only from installers inside the Solar Choice network but also from those outside it as well. By the end of the month, they felt that they had a strong enough understanding of the market to make a well-informed decision.

After another month of deliberation, Bridgestone settled on one of Solar Choice’s recommendations based on their experience in the industry and knowledge surrounding the installation. The chosen supplier had stayed in regular contact with the client throughout the process, fielding all question posed to them with a degree know-how that gave the client full confidence in their decision.
