Average commercial solar system prices stay steady at about $1.20 per watt for the month of October. The average price of a 100kW system comes in at about $1.10 per watt – or about $110,000 for a fully installed system (after STC incentive and GST are applied).

Is there any way we can relate your pricing matrix/index to the quality or type of system thats being predominately installed? For example these prices mostly reflect installations of tier 1 panels in a DC string array arrangement or DC optimiser or inverter arrangement….

Hi Tom. The prices here are all for string inverter systems. As for tier rankings, there are actually different ranking systems used in Australia. If you’re referring to the Bloomberg New Energy Finance ranking system, they do not publish their results for the general public – although the results are often made public by installers who know they’re using panels that got a Tier 1 ranking from BNEF.
I highly recommend you read our article on tier rankings to get a better understanding of how they’re developed and how to assess them.
As for the panel brands used, the full list of those included for October (in no particular order) is below.
