No problem with the installation, however after being installed in August 2011 my 5.04kW solar system using 21 x BYD 240P6-30 panels and the SMA Sunnyboy inverter now seem to max out at typically 3.6kW/hr (cool bright sunny day in summer and facing the sun), and typoically I get 2.5-3kW on a good summer day where previously they would regularly reach the 5kW system design output. The panels are 'guaranteed' to make more than 90% of their rated capacity for the 1st 10 years, then > 80% from 10 to 25 years, (subject to sunlight and mounting arrangement - of course). This criteria is not being met. I paid over $21,000AU for this system, it's not meant to be a cheapo and has cost about $1500 per year over the installation period. I'm a small residential electricity user and this cost annual cost would likely be greater than the cost of power any power saved. I contacted the installer and they (understandably) palmed me off to a BYD.au phone number from which I have had no response after several attempts at contacting them. There doesn't seem to any way of contacting BYD to lodge a warranty claim. I'm left with an underperforming system, and no way of getting any warranty service. Don't touch BYD panels, no support and pretty well junk. Solar My World could offer better support given the high premium paid for this system.
