Terregra completes 5MW Solar Farm in SA

The 5MW Mobilong solar farm in South Australia has commenced first generation, marking the successful completion of the first Australian PV project for Indonesia-based Terregra Renewables.

Generation from the solar farm, located around 65km east of Adelaide, will be sold through a merchant off-take arrangement, demonstrating it is not always necessary for projects to rely on power purchase agreements to secure finance.

“This is a great achievement for Terregra Renewables and is our first operating project in Australia,” director Graham Pearson said in a statement this week.

Terregra has pipeline of projects in the works, including another 5MW solar farm under construction at Naracoorte, close to the South Australian-Victoria border, and plans to establish a 35MW portfolio of 5MW solar projects across S.A.

“Our focus is on developing and operating 5MW solar projects across Australia,” Pearson said. “We have an exciting pipeline of projects and we look forward to bringing more into operation over the coming year.”

  1. It is really interesting to see more solar PV projects going online and in MegaWatts scale. Will you be able to share as well more details on this project? I would love to know how many solar panels and inverters are used. I’d like to know as well how much kWh it will be able to supply each year. Thanks.

    1. Hi Mike,

Yes its great to see Solar Farms reach viability at 5MW scale. We will aim to publish future updates once it is released.
