Sigenergy 32kW with 29 JA Solar bifacial panels.

The quote came through via solar quotes recommendation along with one other. I wanted whole house backup, but everyone was quoting Sungrow or BYD to my initial enquiry. I did lots of research. After research I discovered I needed 40 amps capacity. Only Tesla and Sigenergy could satisfy my criteria. Krypton said I understand, it would be our first install but we can make it happen. Their final quotes much lower than local Bendigo installers. I was prepared to take the risk with Azka because of his clear communication and very quick responses with full attention to detail. System installed 32kW 10Kw inverter with 12.74 JA Solar biracial panels. I should have gone 40kw with 12kw inverter, but so far performance is perfect. The inspector told me they had done a really neat good job. Had an instance where the gateway drew power from grid at 4pm despite a fully charged battery. I went to maintenance and selected to go off-grid to force battery discharge instead of grid power. Unfortunately after the peak charging period of 9pm I went back to force reconnect to grid and it refused. Next day Azka arranged a party phone call with Said the electrician and he restored the grid connection in seconds. We agreed to keep watch on the gateway hoping it just a one-off glitch and not the fire bearer of a possible warranty claim.

It is August and they are already producing 10Kw during the day. 2kw in late afternoon under fully cloudy skies. My research suggested bifacials May do better in cloudy conditions. No proof but I am encouraged by the initial performance of these.

I am hopeful for Sigenergy. Fantastic on paper but it is relatively new to market. The software is superb in custom mode. Even Tesla bigoted friend is impressed.

As for the inverter, new to market. Everyone has high hopes because the promise is way beyond good.

The sales process was simple and prompt

The sales process was simple and prompt, the solar panels installers completed the installation on the day, additionally changing pre-existing broken roof tile. The installation of the hot water heat pump was more protracted (few days from start to finish), with modification required to the base under the heat pump after the initial installation.

Panels installed on the east and noth parts of the tiled roof. For 8.5kW system installed the maximum (midday) output in January and February, depending on the weather, has been 5.0-6.8kW (sunny or a bit cloudy weather) and about 1.5-2.5kW on dark cloudy day. Daily generation between 15kWh and 48kWh (in summer). Most generated electricity by far goes to the grid.

So far so good.

Heat Pump - Emerald Energy

Capacity 270l is much more than enough. The heating occurs only between 8-9am to 60 degrees C. No option to change this timing. This is good timing in summer to use solar electricity in the morning (solar panels on the east and north parts of the roof), but will see in winter if enough solar generated electricity in the morning at 8am to power the heat pump.
