Proffesional staff and excellent work
Contacted O'Briens for a quote for a full new solar power system for our home. Danny was very helpful in advising us on what we wanted. Later, Gaetano and his men arrived on time and in just two days had installed 18 panels on the roof along with the inverter and battery, all very neatly and tradesmen like. Later Gae set up the inverter to control the grid-failure battery-backup system the way we wanted. We are very pleased with the service O'Brien's have provided us and we can recommend them. Zena D

I obtained three quotes through Solar Choice and found O'brien Rowville to be the most helpful in terms of explaining the background of the companies behind the solar panels, inverter and battery. The ended up providing me two quotes in terms of different inverter and battery set up. Unlike other quoters, they did not solely push one company instead explaining the strengths and comparing the available options. They had to delay the installation however were quick to contact me and advise they had been delayed due to weather on a prior installation. They turned up on the new date and started when they said they would. The team cleaned up after themselves and they took away all the components of the smaller older system we had in place. If I were to do anything differently next time, I would have taken advantage of their offer to send a representative over to review the property and all the options so that I would have gotten a better understanding of the size of the battery and installation location options prior.

Solar Inverter - SAJ
Selected them as they have an office a few suburbs away from me in the event I required to call on warranty. Warranty is up there with more known brands. Inverter seems to work very well. I find that the app is not very detailed and unable to make any tweaks personally in relation to when the battery charges/discharges. Have spoken to SAJ as I am on a time of use plan. Unfortunately the battery charges from the grid during the evening once discharged (during the peak rate). SAJ could not understand that I wanted the battery to be set so that it discharges during the peak rate period and charges either during the day via panels or grid when power is cheaper. Although they said the app could do so after a long discussions over WhatsApp messaging not via voice it has not been done. It is hard to find any instructions or guides (video or otherwise) on how to use the app to its full potential.

The sales process was painless and conducted mainly by email. The installers were punctual, friendly, and considerate. I could not fault the workmanship and no follow up has been required.

Installation Photos
O'Brien's were great throughout the process but the installers of the solar panels not so much. They put the inverter in a position where it will be exposed to direct sunlight even when there was ample shade to use. They left my house unlocked and gate wide open when they left. The fact the system would need to be inspected before it was turned on was not explained either. The actual company O'Brien's was great just the installer that did the panels really ruined the whole experience
Arrived as stated, good careful workers taking all safety aspects into consideration and liaised with us on position of battery/controller.
