The PW3 tripped the DC isolator after 7 ...
The PW3 tripped the DC isolator after 7 days. It continues to trip most days. I believed the PW3 is damaged because it has signs of damage at the rear of the unit & it did not leave the factory like that. When being offloaded insufficient care was taken with the PW3 and it was allowed to slide down the ramps and hit the ground. In service the PW3 battery is always hot even when there is no solar and it is generating only 0.5 kW. The heat in the battery pack is increasing daily as it migrates down the battery. I beleive it has the same fault as the PW2 with dead batteries. The installer will not return to investigate the fault unless Tesla pay them. The installer is treating the fault like a warranty claim. I do not expect a warranty claim in the first 7 days. Its either a manufactruing problem or an installation problem. Tesla and the Installer are blaming my solar array. I have to prove that my solar array is not the problem before they will act. While the solar array could be the source of the trip Tesla are saying it could be PW3. I think the evelvated battery temperature points to a fault in the PW3 which should be addressed. Its should be noted that Proven subcontracted the installation to PMS Electrical Pty.

Tesla say they are providing a warranty but its not based on what is required by trading standards. They are expecting the installer to provide the warranty for them but where the problem is within the PW3 and is potentially a manufacting problem they shoudl ahev there own people. There is no way an installer has the expertise to carry out an onsite inspection for the unit & know what the fault is. Tesla do not have sufficient service back up to cover its products. I have been unable to get a phone number of a service centre in Queensland in order to speak to someone because the installer is refusing to return to site to investigate the problem. My other complaints are that the PW3 & Expansion Pack were not installed as per my diagram and that they did not provide an electrical diagram showing where the components are and how they are connected (i am told this is a legal requirement).

Initially took a while to lock in an installation date due to public holidays etc in April but it was worth the wait. Excellent service throughout the process from Peter, Emily, Joel and the team. They provided a high standard of work and explanation of what the installation would entail. We greatly appreciated their support and time taken in helping us work out the IT side of things too!
