As a high power user; averaging 50–70 kWh per day in winter—my household energy bills were hitting $800+ a month. Between ducted heating, in-slab hydronics, and the size of the home, I needed more than just solar. I needed a battery solution that could not only reduce peak costs but also keep my large appliances running during outages, which are fairly common in Tasmania. With the new Government rebates and after months, and months and months of research I narrowed it down to 3 brands. FranklinWH, Sigenergy, and Tesla. I chose FranklinWH FranklinWH - 12 years of warranty, all metal design, easy install, 2 smart circuits, optional generator port, no exposed wires, mid range price with 1 battery, low priced with multiple batteries, and a great easy to use app. Sigenergy - 10 years of warranty on battery, which is constantly changing. 1 smart circuit, optional generator port which I believe uses the smart circuit port, a LOT of plastic which i'm concerned about warping in the Australian Sun and strange wiring design where it is easy to stick little hands where the electrical wires are located. Lower priced for 1 battery, mid-range price multiple batteries. Powerwall - 10 year warranty, all metal design, more costly to supply and install, app aimed to use with a tesla vehicle, is associated with Musk. (bad reputation) High price, 1 or multiple batteries. FranklinWH has super-fast switchover from the grid to the battery. My computers now stay on in an outage. I’ve already recommended FranklinWH to friends and family. The sleek design, solid performance, and excellent customer support make it well worth the investment. Based on our use, I estimate a 7–8 year payback period. With a 12-year warranty and expected retention of at least 70% capacity beyond that, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get 20+ years of use. I ended up installing 54kwh of batteries or 4 batteries. The price was cheaper than the other companies, and installation was extremely fast. I've had great support from Franklin for any questions I had. I truly believe Franklin will be the next big thing in Australia. They are built solid, have the backed support and Warranty and are continuing to develop new products. One thing that really stands out is that their newer battery that has just been launched in the US is backwards compatible with the batteries in Australia. So when Franklin releases the new version in Australia in the next few years, you will be able to add on to the existing setup. No need to replace. This is game changer over Tesla batteries which require complete replacement.

All metal design. No wires accessible after installed. Metal covers on all sides. Longer 12 year warranty than other brands. Safe technology of battery. Really easy to use App. Generator port support (in case of long blackouts and low sunshine from solar). 2 Smart Circuits which also monitor power usage. Grid and Off Grid support (can be completely off grid). I chose FranklinWH on the basis of the all metal design, no cables are shown, sleek design, Excellent build quality and high performance parts. Price when installing multiple batteries was cheaper than other leading brands. Gateway is much easier to work on than most brands with plenty of internal space for all those accessories. Support is excellent - the questions i've had were answered quickly, and the wait time for install was very short. ( it was 2 weeks after ordering). If you are looking for a battery that has the appeal of Tesla, but do not own a tesla vehicle. Franklin is the brand you should be installing. Its an amazing product, and I am now running 4 FranklinWH Batteries on a single controller. My battery setup is 4 batteries. rates multiply so more batteries means higher rates. Charge Rate per battery up to 5kw. (my rate, 20kw). Discharge rate 5kw singe (my rate, 20kw). Black Start (batteries are 15kwh's but show 13.6kwh) so that the battery can turn on the solar inverter during a blackout, even if it has 0% charge. Can be used on 4G, Wireless or Ethernet.
