LG battery recall
Review left 2 years after system installed
Original LG battery was recalled. Powerplus 2x 3.8 installed on May 2024 at no cost. Original system of 3.9 kW of solar and LG battery installed by Springers Solar. LG paid for replacement. All work performed by Springers, 100% trustworthy. Working well. Richard.
Excellent experience with Springers Solar
I strongly recommend Springers Solar if you are thinking about a solar PV system and/or a home battery for a solar PV system. I am 'OCD' about any large purchase and did six months of research for a new solar PV and battery system before deciding again to go with Springers who had installed the system on our previous home (that previous system is still going strong 14 plus years after installation, it was solar PV only, no battery). Springers were not the cheapest retailers /installers but are very very good installers and only sell good quality panels/inverters/ batteries, local and use their own installers (no contractors). 10 year warranty on their installation work. 25 operational warranty on Trinia PV panels (30 year power generation guarantee, 87.5 % capacity guarenteed after 30 years). For batteries look at either Tesla Powerwall 3 and expansion packs (10 year full warranty on Tesla Powerwall with guaranteed 70% capacity after 10 years) or Sig Energy batteries (modular batteries). We went with the Powerwall 3 plus Expansion pack (total 27 kWh) but are already wishing we'd gone for a second Expansion pack to take us to 40 kWh of storage. They have installed 2 Solar PV systems for me now (previous house and recently current house) and both were top jobs with excellent customer service pre and post installation. Every installer is very busy with the current government panel and battery rebates but Springers are worth the wait. We got a 13.5 kWh PV solar panel system (30x Trinia 450 Vertex S+ panels) and a Tesla 3 Powerwall (13.5 kWh) inverter / battery with an expansion pack (another 13.5 kWh) Just for clarity / your reassurance:I have no commerical or personal relationship with Springers (paid full price, no discounts or benefits etc for positive reviews or referrals etc). The system is performing as per the projections supplied by Springers. Very happy. Thank you to everyone at Springers from administration to sales to installers.
Solar Panel - Trina
30 x Trinia 450 w Vertex S+ panels (13.5 kWh) : 22 on Eastern roof of house; 4 on Northern side of carport roof; and 4 on Southern side of carport roof. Panels look good and are performing as per the performance projections provided by Spingers Solar. Very happy.
Solar Inverter -
The Tesla Powerwall 3 has a built in 10 kWh inverter. It is operarating as advertised. Doing a great job of powering the home overnight. The management / monitoring app is excellent.
Battery - Tesla
Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5 kWh) with a Expansion pack (13.5 kWh) , total 27 kWh. The unit and management 'app' are excellent and performing as per performance projections as supplied by Springers Solar. Only regret is not having installed a second Expansion pack to take the system to 40 kWh of energy storage.
