UPowr Reviews
About UPowr
Established in Sydney in 2018, UPowr is Australia’s only digital solar design and installation platform for residential solar and batteries.
Co-founders Stu and Daniel met while working in the innovation arm of one of Australia’s largest energy retailers. They saw firsthand the challenges that businesses faced trying to operationalise and scale solar installations – and how this impacted the experiences of customers looking for a simple and reliable outcome.
Rather than relying on lead transfers, multiple touchpoints and fuzzy accountability lines, Stu and Daniel saw an opportunity to bring the key parts of the solar industry together through a digital platform to create more value and better experiences for customers.

I had the worst possible experience wit...
I had the worst possible experience with Upowr. Keep away from these guys. They sent the Solar panel installers who forgot to put the tiles back on my roof. I had rain pouring into my bedroom causing extensive damage. This has been dragging on for months with Upowr palming me off and making ridiculous excuses. They finally came on Thursday to inspect with the manager Stu saying it looked like an old house anyway. I was shocked. That does not mean your workers can damage my house Stu! Keep as far away from Upowr as possible guys. Terrible terrible experience.

Upowr was recommended by my electricity company, Amber. I think they are a centralised service that allocates jobs to local installers, so they are only as good as their local installer. The one for Newcastle was OK at best - he was difficult to contact, and was clearly interested in doing the job as quickly as possible. When I went through the manual I discovered the battery was not installed to manufacturers specifications regarding fire proofing. It took quite a bit of too and fro with Upowr and a threat of involving fair trading before they installed it to code, and it was clearly a hurried fix up that looks pretty rough. Having said that the system seems to work fine, and Upowr did get moving in the end. If I had my time again I would find out who the specific installer for my region is and try to ascertain if they were any good.
