Terra Madre rolls out 238kW of solar panels across 3 sites

Terra Madre 238kW Solar panels project

Terra Madre is a leader in affordable organic foods with a 28-year history based in Melbourne.

Owner, Sam McGinley, pursued the solar project with the intention of lowering the business’s overall carbon footprint and saving some money on energy bills at the same time.

Solar Choice were engaged to help design the optimal system sizes for the three sites, including estimating the expected energy usage at the new shop being built in Brunswick. Solar Choice conducted a tender process through which Terra Madre found a reputable and qualified solar installation company who were able to complete the job at a competitive rate.

The project is expected to deliver up to 50% of Terra Madre’s energy usage through summer months and offset over 5 million kilograms of CO2 emissions over a 20-year lifetime. That’s the equivalent of taking 1,100 cars off the road for one year.
