We’re a family-owned and operated company, built from the ground up.
We’ve been around for close on 13 years. Ben, our head electrician and company principal, started out installing solar solutions in 2010.
Since then we’ve completed over 10,000 solar installations.
We’re based in Brendale on the north side of Brisbane, serving customers as far as Central Queensland and Northern New South Wales. But we’re not so far that we can’t easily get to you when needed.
And, of course, we’re… "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie"…proudly Australian.

Had a good experience with Scott and his team at Expert Electrical Tasmania. I liked that the sales person (Scott) also led my install personally. This minimised the possibility of any surprises on install day. They did a nice tidy install, and also did my EV charger on the same day. I appreciated that they managed to squeeze all the new bits I wanted (PV, hot water timer, EV charger, consumption meter) into my existing sub-board, which took some genuine creativity, when it probably would have been easier for them to charge me to put in a new/larger sub-board. The SMA kit looks great and has been working great so far, I like the app. Would recommend Scott and his team to anybody.

Great sales process, including multiple proposals, full performance figures based on my power needs. Excellent price. One day installation & short lead time to commence. Cleaned up all packaging, rubbish etc. No roof damage or leaks. Very friendly sales & installation crew. Quoted system performance actually matches the reality of what I am now getting now it is installed. Couldn't be more impressed.

Very high spec gear for the price and overall very happy with it. Only quibble is lack of display on device. If the internet is down the only info is the LED which changes colour at 50% and 20% battery. QR code scan to phone from device doesn't work.

From quote through installation and follow up has been a satisfying experience. The installation was offered in advance due to postponement by another customer which we gratefully accepted. The crew doing the installation were friendly, professional, efficient and left the site in a tidy condition. The solar panels are happily pumping out free power which will undoubtedly reduce our power bill significantly over the coming months and years. The quote process was simple, the reo came to the house, reviewed where the panels could go and looked at the electrical board to make sure he understood the installation requirements. He sat with me and ran through the options and as I wasn’t sure if I wanted a battery or just panels, he provided quotes for both. He explained the rebates available and the changes coming at the end of the year, something other companies had used as a scare tactic to make me sign quicker was just explained carefully and not pushed on me. The process after I signed was well communicated and efficient. The install was done a few weeks later, in and out in a day by an experienced team. They explained what they were going to do and let me know what was going on through the day, then ran through the operation of the system. They followed up later to check everything was working and I was satisfied with the service. Good experience all round.

The system was built based on very outdated imagery and without a visit to inspect the roof, etc. This meant that they installed the system in a location where it will be shaded by a house to the west which doesn't exist in their imagery. Communication was unprofessional and almost nonexistent. The install itself was contracted out to JD Electrical who did a great job. I do not recommend Expert Electrical Tasmania at all, and suggest that you go with a more established and professional provider.

SMA is a good inverter, no one will dispute that. There was a minor issue with the software after a self-update caused the webui to display some JSON tags, however that fixed itself within a few days. The UI is very intuitive but also provides very detailed and specialised data and options.

Very happy with the speed, quality and communication that Expert Electrical (EE) did for my Solar install. Originally it was going to be 60 days from Quote to install, but ended up being 30 days as he called me and slotted me in early. First contact with EE was fantastic, we had a very quick conversation as I had already done a lot of research on what I wanted (such as size and expected costs). I ended up choosing EE over another installer as the end product between the 2 were very similar in quality but EE was cheaper. I think this is down the the cost of the Inverter being cheaper as EE said that he deals directly with SMA instead of through a dealer, being cheaper prices. I was emailed through 6 different options. 3 ~6.6kw and 3 ~7.7kw systems, each system being a cheap, average, better quality. I ended up with a 7.7kW system with a 6kW SMA inverter, the most expensive as that had a really good return on investment for me as I don't mind paying a bit more for something that better quality. Email communication was top notch, especially in the afternoons with replies being as short as a few minutes. I enquired about what monitoring hardware was available (as I know inverters can only show whats being generated, I wanted to know how much I was using, generating, exporting and importing. They gave me 2 products and some information before jumping on a video call and him showing me his computer screen showing how the product works. Excellent use of video calling. Day of install came and the contractors (not EE, but Derwent Electrical) showed up and did a top notch job. Very happy with the work they did, 0 complaints with EE or Derwent electrical. 10/10 would recommend EE to a friend or Family member.

Their communication, price, and follow up service have been fantastic, particularly with ironing out any of the kinks that cropped up once the service was up and running. Very highly recommended company, and definitely get a quote from them before you start!

I would recommend these gents to everyone! I was referred to Expert Electrical Tasmania by a friend who had their system installed by them. I got some quotes from other companies in the area but their products did not appear to be as good. I called and they arranged a virtual appointment for me with Scott, which was very informative and well presented, and sent me a quote with several system plans because I was so indecisive at first. I requested a further site inspection just to make to sure of a few things and Scott was more than happy to help me with this. They organised all the paperwork and contacted my power supplier too. I bought a 6.6kwh SolarWatt/SMA system in mid May 2022 and it was installed (and running) by the end of May. The installation was very tidy and the installers, Sam and Jake, answered all my questions while they were working. Expert Electrical even called me to check that everything went well and to help me set up my monitoring app. I am very happy I went with them!

Tony was knowledgeable and friendly, although there was an error made with inspecting the switchboard that may have influenced our decision to choose installers. There appeared to be three phase power to the switchboard and we therefore were offered and chose to have a three phase inverter. This was actually incorrect and we now have an effective SMA single phase inverter, whereas we were considering a Goodwe 3 string single phase inverter, which may have suited our roof better than the 2 string inverter. Having said that, we chose also to use quality rated products, and SMA is considered a superior product. the solar installation was conducted quickly, effectively, and the installers were very friendly and courteous, and even left the roof in a better state than when they arrived replacing many broken tiles from my spares heap. So far the solar is functioning well, and we have been getting around 20kWhr on sunny days since February which is in line with what we were expecting in Hobart area from our 6 kW panels and 5 kW inverter, with panels spread over east, north and west facing sections or roof. I am satisfied with the solar performance and especially with the installers.I will have a better measure of performance next summer.

Scott was very helpful and knowledgeable with some great advice. Expert Electrical efficiently and politely installed our 5Kw system in inner city Brisbane, along with doing some electrical work to modernise our powerbox, wire up the back deck and install some fans and air conditioning. Overall it was an over $10K job. Things went downhill quickly after they finished the job though. They stuffed up the invoices and sent aggressive overdue notices for a large invoice we paid on the day of installation, they left without returning my neighbours parking permit, and they didn't respond to emails about the parking permit or a defective fan installation in our bedroom that has been keeping us up at night (put in by a teenage apprentice). They did respond eventually (3 weeks later) after they sent me another overdue notice and I pointed out the problem with the invoice and provided a bank receipt showing I'd already paid it. But instead of sending someone over to look at the fan they sent a sales rep to threaten me again with non-payment of a second bill, tell me - without looking at it - that the problem with the fan was manufacturing and not their work - and used my neighbours parking permit as leverage (threatening to withhold it until we paid the remaining bill for the electrical component - an invoice that was issued the day before and wasn't even due yet). I immediately paid their bill to get them out of my life but am now in a position of needing another electrician to fix the fan. I can't recommend them. They were completely unwilling to take responsibility for their work and incompetent and threatening in their approach to billing.
