Cricket for Climate was founded by Australia’s Test cricket captain Pat Cummins with a goal of making Cricket carbon neutral nationwide.
Solar Choice was engaged at the start of the project to provide expert advice to Cricket for Climate and ensure that each club got the best possible outcome.
Solar Choice’s engineering team has designed the optimal system design for 5 cricket clubs, the national cricket center, and led a tender management process to ensure that each project was installed by a reputable and appropriately qualified contractor at a competitive rate.
“It has been a great pleasure to work with the team at Cricket for Climate and it is great to see that they have been able to get a great outcome for the cricketing and sporting clubs that have been involved so far”, Jeff Sykes, CEO of Solar Choice.
The latest 285kW solar project for the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane is expected to deliver $1 million dollars in savings and offset over 8,000 tonnes of CO2 over the next 20 years.
Solar Choice is looking forward to supporting Cricket for Climate across the next stages of the journey to carbon neutrality.
